Making A Flower Basket Using Agrawool

Hello to our lovely customers!

Today were excited to bring you our first blog in a while, and what a lovely blog to start you all off! How to make your own fresh flower arrangement using Agra Wool!

Agra Wool (also know as Sideau) is a recently launched product, made as an eco-conscious alternative to Floral Foam Blocks due to them not being fully biodegradable. Agra Wool has been created this with Sucrose and Basalt, not only to be degradable but also reusable. It is perfect for both fresh flower and also artificial flower arrangements - we decided to use fresh flowers for this particular blog.

We have put together a quick DIY video on how you can make your own flower basket arrangement using Agra Wool. This was our first time using this product so we could see exactly what all of our customers have been raving about - we were quite impressed!

We found the water retention for Agra Wool to be superb, it held the water over the course of 4 days better than Floristry foam with the comparison we did - The flowers stayed fresh for much longer than floristry foam too which we was pleasantly surprised by.

Our top tips to help you use Agra Wool:

  • We recommend using hard stemmed flowers if you plan on using fresh, as we found the smaller and more flimsey plants were much harder to push in when using
  • If you plan on soft stemmed plants, then we suggest using something such as a metal skewer to place a hole in the plant before hand
  • Cut your shape carefully, with a sharpened knife. Although its super easy to cut, it did crumbly slightly more than the usual florist foam
